An album in tribute to the King of the Blues – B. B. King Tribute
On September 16, B.B.’s unique album will be released. King Tribute – in tribute to the King of the Blues, honoring B.B., who died on May 14. King. The idea of creating a band that would perform songs from B.B.’s repertoire Kinga has been germinating in Krzysztof “Dr Blues” Rybarczyk’s head for a long time. The leader of the bands Wielka Łódź and Dr Blues & Soul Re Vision established the Dr Blues – B.B. project in the summer of 2014. King Tribute. B.B. King died a year later, on May 14, 2015, and at that moment Dr. Blues’ project also gained a new, educational dimension, presenting and perpetuating the work of a master who will never be heard on any stage in the world again.
In June and July 2015, on the initiative of Dr Blues, a unique album was released: B.B. King Tribute – in tribute to the King of Blues with the participation of invited, most active, recognized and unique guitarists from the broadly understood blues circle, operating in our country for years and making a significant contribution to its popularization. The album, released by Flower Records under the patronage of the Polish Blues Association, the Your Blues quarterly, and Gitarzysta Magazine, will be released on September 16 – on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of B.B.’s birth. Kinga, and at the same time the 10th anniversary celebration of the Polish Blues Day. It was on this day, on the initiative of Sławek Wierzcholski – the then President of the Polish Blues Association, that the holiday of all Polish blues lovers was established in 2005.
The album, lasting over 70 minutes, contains a total of thirteen songs from B.B.’s repertoire. King, including several famous compositions. However, these are mainly less popular songs. The invited guests – guitarists are accompanied by the Dr Blues group – B.B. King Tribute. Krzysztof “Dr Blues” Rybarczyk is the producer of this release and sings in all songs, except the first one, in which the vocal part is performed by Niki Buzz.
